can anyone help with these?

i found these two things in different fields! the first one i found was the larger silver one about six months ago!

i thought it was the back of a watch with some of the mechanism still stuck to it, but this piece of mechanism sticks out both sides of the circle!
i found the second smaller one on christmas eve and again with this thing sticking out either side so now i need to know!
also the larger one seems a bit ornate for the back of a watch! it has a bird engraved on it sitting what looks like bamboo!

i just think it's strange to find two of these with the same bits in if they are backs of watches!
