✅ SOLVED can anyone help with these buttons

The first button is 3/4" with a big A and GR in in front of it...the back is crusted .....the axe button was found at the same spot it is1 1/4"....the royal navy? Button is 7/8" with back marks of ..HM..TW PARIS....any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance...

First one is a GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) button. This was a union army, navy, marines and revenue cutter service veterans organization after the civil war.

I see Nhbenz correctly identified your first button while I was researching to confirm what I believe button #3 is. It is a Spanish Royal Navy button. Its backmark saying Tw and HM means it was manufactured by the Paris, France button-making firm of Trelon, Weldon, & Weill sometime after Hartog Mechand & Co. joined that firm, operating as a partnership from 1865 to 1902.

Thanks nhbenz and cannonballguy ...great info...you guys are on point..ever find anything on the axe button? Cause I haven't...anyway thanks again for giving me a starting point for more research...learning the history on things pulled from the ground is really awesome...hh
