For the record I would say Chinese. Probably a good fortune deity - longevity, health, wealth...

Could be a Ming. But frankly, all these old Chinese guys look the same to me - and my wife is Asian (Japanese - OK, she's from California, but her grandparents were all from Japan).

Yeah, a little off. Face structure is somewhat similar... yours also shows a large forehead which the guy definitely had.

I'm sure somebody with more experience will pitch in and put forward a far better explanation
