Welcome to Tnet

Unfortunately, there's no reliable way to identify most 'gemstones' from a picture alone... especially not when the picture is low quality or out of focus.

It could be ruby... through to something semi-precious... or a synthetic... or even glass.

A decent jeweller with the right equipment should be able to tell you.

Agreed. Too blurry. And even if in sharp focus you can't really tell from a photo. Could be garnet as well. Birthstone for January and fairly common.

These are glass.

Color says ruby to me, but I agree with Red Coat and Charlie P

It's not red enough for ruby. It has that bit of orange in it says garnet to me.

Look at it with a magnifier and see if there is any worn edges or scratches. If it all sharp it could be be ruby/sapphire.

I doubt it's going to be a ruby, but that's an odd way of judging it.

Most rubies have a strong red color, although the precise color of rubies can range from blood-red to orangy-red, purple-red, brown-red or even a pink-red tone [ref: diamonds.pro website]

Lower grade rubies have a wide range of hues in less desirable colours, to the extent that they are often heat-treated in an effort to improve them. I honestly do not believe it can be identified from those pictures, except on balance of probability it not being a valuable 'gemstone'.
