Can anyone date this button?

Hi everyone. I need some help in determining if a button I found today is old or modern. I found this button today in a city park, about 4 inches deep. The park itself is old, dating to the early 20th century, and many old coins (indians, Barbers, etc) have been found there. I am just hoping the button isn't a modern one from Aeropostale clothing co. Button appears old, but might just be "retro"...has the wording equipments militaires and a 5 pointed star on the front. Nothing on the back. Pics below, thanks.
