344. (PA: Philadelphia): William H. Scott Hard Times Token. Scott was a Philadelphia dry goods merchant beginning in 1825, who backstamped the buttons sold in his store 'W.H. SCOTT/+PHILADELPHIA+'. Rulau lists this c/m as a HTT since the latest date coin with Scott's stamp is 1837. "W. H. Scott" struck twice, crossing, XF marks on Fine 1828 Half Cent, 13 stars variety. $250.00-300.00+
