✅ SOLVED CAN anybody TELL ME WHAT THIS IS? USE??

Hello everybody!!! I got this a few days ago and was told that is was used for maps..To line up roads,direction,etc. I'm not sure.It is approx.18.5in.long.has a 94 stamped into it,NO other mark's.
ANY HELP will be greatly appreciated...HAPPY HUNTING ALL!!!

Thats an old drafting tool called a parallel rule. It allowed users to draw offset parallel lines in mechanical drawings before the days of Computer Aided Drawings (CAD)
