It is not a bottle cap, I think that option can be eliminated completely from the list of possibilities.

Seems familiar. Could be an end cap for a refrigerant line? What did you find with it? Anything to give us some clues?

I'm thinking that it may be a furniture leg metal glide.

It had 3 sharp points to hammer it into a wooden leg of table or couch.

Hmmm, OK, I'm sticking with pipe end cap.

I think your correct, because it looks like the sharp points have broken off
