Never thought of that but kinda cool! Fred's place on the left, Barney lives on the right, haha! I haven't found any evidence of prehistoric activity right there but there is on down towards the mouth of the canyon. They probably did game drives down through there. The Penitentes were in the canyon but I don't really think they had any reason to come that far up. There is evidence of Hispanic woodcutters all up through there, and they probably saw that formation same way I did.It looks like a stone age duplex! Pretty neat locale. Thanks
It's is cold and wet snow flurries here today, but yesterday was spectacular and last Wednesday we got up to 82 degrees. It had the whole wild kingdom of the front range living the dream. Looks like you made good on this short lived heatwave. I gotta go check that area out sometime. I would imagine you didn't have to deal with much of the crowds this time of the year.View attachment 2078918View attachment 2078919View attachment 2078920View attachment 2078921View attachment 2078922First time I've been out of the county and been anywhere except work in the last 7 months. Good weather and it was 40 above when I got up at daylight. I'm used to closer to 0. Little windy, but no complaints from me. Another pic of the owl rock for tamrock.
Yeah kinda sucks here after I got back. But it's spring I guess. Only crowd I had was a bunch of Mennonite ladies brought the kids out for a day outdoors and a lot of racket down the way. But they were havin a big time so didn't bother me. Walked through and visited with them a little. Had a couple of people pull right into my campsite and ask me questions about where things were in the area. Don't know why I look like the guy who should know, but I could answer their questions, and get them on the right track. Kind got carried away that last couple talkin about rattlesnakes and they turned around and left the canyon.
