The weather here has been really lousy. On and off rain every day for the last week. It has not been real cold but the ground is pure mud. A few days ago I broke off and drove back to the 1795 French camp site. I had a good 6 hours or so to hunt so I was stoked . I got on site only to find the fields extremely muddy. I mean every step you took you had another 5 pounds of mud stuck to your shoes and on your coil. It was slow going. I had to carry a stick to scrape the mud just so I could swing the coil. It made for a sore back and legs but it was worth it. I did not get to cover near as much ground as I wanted but I still made a few finds. I found one small silver 1 kruzer dated 1847 ,a total of 4 French buttons, 3 French Republic buttons and one French button that reads DEPARTEMENT DE LA GIRONDE , then it has a wreath in the middle and it says LIBERTE EGALITE . A friend has a button that covers 1790 through 1815 and we found the button in the book. It was from 1792. :) This place is rich with history. I am going to try make it there one more time but not sure if the weather will hold out and I am leaving this month . It has been fun! I found some other stuff and lots of dropped musket balls also. Sometimes I wonder how they did any fighting because they seemed to drop al there ammo.LOL Hope all are well and HH. :)

Hey B-man me and VIPER771 got out to the B-17 crash site we spent a couple of hours, dug up alot of 50cal link and unshot bullets, cables, some cool thick chunks of glass, some belt or strap buckels, alot of bolts and rivets even some cool rubber mounting bracket pieces. We have had bad colds lately too but never stops us from MD and digging. hope we can get together before you go so you can show us those good WWII sites with all the shrapnel and crators you were telling VIPER771 about.

Nice finds Bman! Hope you get out again before you leave. Sorry we never got to hook up for a hunt, I just could not get a trip over that way all year and now I will be moving there in about two months. HH, Mike

Hey Bammer ,I got a bunch of stuff that you and Viper can split if you all want it . I got to meet the weight limit. :'( Hope we can all hook up. ;)

Gypsyheart, I am flying out at the end of the month. Going to Minot North Dakota. Being from the Gulf Coast I am not real thrilled .LOL I have heard good things about the area though.

Mike when you get here I have some people for you to meet. Good people to hunt with.

Hey cool finds! I only have 1 french button so far. This the same camp site as before?? I think you guys have better luck than I did there. Yeah the weather here is REALLY bad. At least it isn't snowing. I hope we can link up. Let me know! Ill take anything you don't want.

HH!

Those are some nice finds. I like the buckles.

Viper ,between four of us, we have found about 130 buttons there and the surrounding fields. Still lots to be found but no time for me. :'( Give me a call ,I have three boxes of stuff if you want it. Got to get the weight down. :-\

Hey Bman, you mean that 1 ton bell you dragged home is teetering the weight limit, LOL, that's a big bell! I already plan on meeting Bammer and Viper. HH, Mike

LOL ,Mike I had the bell cut down. It only weighs about 95lbs now. I like it the way it was better but it was to hard to handle.
