Nice finds! That looks to me like a clay pipe bowl with the stem completely broken off. :icon_thumleft:
 

I really like the collar insignia. For those of you tuning in late: Camp Cody NM, 1916-1919. A training facility for various states' National Guards, and soldiers sent to the field during WWI. Renamed in 1917 to Camp Cody in memory of "Wild Bill Cody"
who passed in 1917 after many years of traveling with his Wild West Show. The nice thing about working the dump site is that the artifacts can be generally dated to a specific time/years period. Best of luck when you go back to dig again!
