I got out today for a few hours. The finds were scarce for the two of us, but the ones we did find were cool. This place may be done until the fall...

Brass (possibly copper...) Cameo Ring

1896 Newfoundland 5 Cents

Romeo posted a musket piece recently. All I remember is something about Roman Numerals. This piece has a couple of X's etched into one side. Is this a musket piece?

And the find of the day goes to the guy I was hunting with.... He found this lovely 1830 USA 10 Cents. It was his only coin, and a beauty at that.

This guy seemed shocked.

Happy hunting!

Great finds--I'd love to find a cameo like that!!

Great finds. I like the cameo ring... and your buddy did well with the capped dime.

Thanks, Erik. I think it's made out of shell. The ring is toast. I'd like to mount it onto something modern, if it is possible.

Fresh back from vacation and still rocking them out!
Great silver finds! The earlier US silver seems to elude me still ;glad to see some found "up north" it keeps hope alive for me

We worked for these today, in that sun! I was quite surprised to see it as well. They have also eluded me. My earliest US silver is a 1902 barber quarter. :laughing7:

I never managed to get out on vacation. 5/7 days, the thunderstorms were brutal. The other two, my plans were made for me. :BangHead:

Those are some choice finds for only a couple hours of coil swinging ! The tree says it all :laughing7:
