Metal Detecting
So I started playing this new game every time I go out detecting. We all know when we first set out for the day we want to find the best targets out there. Because of this we tend to skip some iffy targets or believe our machines are wrong and keep moving to the next best sound. We all do it and those of you who don't kudos to you. So my new game I came up with is this, get to my site and hunt the way I normally do then at the end of the hunt when I'm about to return to the truck I dig every single signal I get on the way back. No matter what it is I dig it. Sure I have dug a lot of crap on the way back that I would normally not dig but I've been rewarded with a 10k ring, 1968 Kennedy half, and a small silver ring that was in the same hole as a square nail. All three were horrible signals I would not have normally dug. I know what your saying, dig everything, but these three signal were so bad that if it were not for this new game I would have never dug them. Try it, it may work for you. It did for me. Good luck to all, HH Mike

I always "dig it all" and get mad later. BUT I DIG IT!!!! I do this because the numbers that show up on my machine are not always true to what it's showing me. God bless grandchildren and a couple of pinpointers.

You've demonstrated why the "dig it all" folks find the most, and often best, goodies. Plain and simple, but it takes patience and persistence.

Hehh hehh that's usually the second game I play. My first game is where are all the pennies ;) Seems to me following the pennies gives me two advantages to your game.

One I find the high traffic areas and two I find the approximate date of the area I'm hunting. Both are fun games : Find the pennies and dig the iffies :) Hahh!

I can't help but to dig everything. But no doubt it gets frustrating sometimes. I usually end up with big plastic buckets full of trash before I get to sorting out all the copper and brass. But it works.
