Howdy folks, I found my first button today and was hoping some of you very knowlegable button fans could help me out. It is about the size of a quarter but I only found one stinkin' Lincoln today to use for size comparison.

The back reads "City Button Works New York". If it helps any I found it on the boundry line of my property and next to my place was an old CC camp that was wiped out in the late thirties by a tornado. I really hope it might be a relic from the camp.

Thanks, HH Charlie

While we're waiting for the button gurus to cruise into view, I'll go ahead and post...

It's a U.S. Army "Great Seal" general service button, c. 1902 to present.

The "City Button Works New York" (Erlanger & Liebman} backmark dates yours prior to 1955.

Wow PBK, that took you a whole 4 minutes...getting a little slow aren't you? :icon_jokercolor:

Thanks for the ID, I don't suppose it's worth much is it?
