Hey guys, I am posting some pics from my cabin hunt here in Texas from last weekend....I have a few items that I need help on.....The first is an odd knob, could this be from a tractor, or old car? The next is an odd piece of iron that appears to have a couple of mounting holes on either side, just below the buckle....Next I have this brass object that has had a hole in the top kind of like a keyway of sorts...any ideas?? And finally, there is this piece of lead....It has a hole in the top, and appears to be some sort of a decoration, or is from a necklace? Any and all help is appreciated....and as always, thanks for stopping by and looking....

Not a big gun, just a little pistol :)

The knob looks like a fuel shut off from an old tractor. Its mounted right below the tank and ahead of the carburetor. I couldn't see the other end very well. Just a guess

My guess about the knob would be a headlight switch for some kind of old vehicle. Serrated edges meant to be turned , possibly to dim interior or dash light? The little buckle and other rusted stuff, beats me. If near a lake the flat object with the hole might be a homemade fishing weight designed to spin and add action the the bait? My best guesses, and after all I am about .095 % correct on my guesses! M ;) nty

Picture 1 - Looks like the adjustor to a gas lamp.

Picture 4 - Brass whatzit - is part of a barrell tap. 100%

Barrell tap - normally used for beer barrells

If you could see the top view of the below, thats where your item fixs to. (you can see the line in the picture where yours would have broken off)

# 1 looks like the gas adjusting/choke knob on my dad's Model A Ford.

What were they used for, and do you know an approximate age? My buckle looks abit different....

Thanks for the help....I still think it kinda looks like some sort of trunk buckle....the site where it was found, I am not sure anyone lived there after the cabin was burned in the late 1800's...but who knows??

Hi Baggins, yer iron whatsit looks to maybe be a leg or other oiece offa cast iron toy. Is it hollow ?

No, it's not hollow, sorry for the bad picture, I will try to get a better one tomorrow...it almost looks like a piece to a rifle, but I could be wrong...

Used to have an old telescope that had a knurled handle and a worm drive to do the focus fine tuning that looked just like the knob thing.

The bottom really rusted thing looks like an old lifter for a cast iron cookstove
