Hi all,

I've heard that many of the TN members are military...I was wondering how many are in the USAF...either active duty, retired or discharged.

I'm active duty, 21 yrs, E-8 and stationed at Eielson AFB near Fairbanks Alaska. I'm a 2S091 (Supply Troop).
My husband Jim is also active duty, 27 yrs, E-9 and a weapons loader.

BTW, my heart goes out to the Soilders (mostly Army) who are coming home badly injured one way or another. My husband and I spent the past week at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) and it's sad to see how badly injured these young guys and gals are; the surprising thing is that most have great attitudes and want to continue to serve if possible! God bless our soilders for their strength and will!

Great to hear from you all...I've been to 8 AF bases and have never run into another AF member that enjoys the hobby...I did although, get a friend into the hobby...he bought a Garret Ace from me for $100 after I won it at an organized hunt...he later bought an XLT and is still enjoying the hobby! It's good to know you're out there! :D

I am now doing the same thing I was doing when I retired but for better money. In 26 years of active duty I never deployed anywhere and that has got to be a record. The only TDY I managed was for school. I guess I lived a sheltered military career.

Farmercal - I got to Osan in June 91... did we breath the same air? (Not that any of it was worth breathing)
No, I was there Jan 1990 - Jan 1991. When my time was up I was out of there! Didn't mind being over there and touring Seoul and seeing the 600 year old palaces but I missed my family tremendously. I bet you enjoyed that new club they built when I was there though, didn't you? Remember the yakimandu? How about soju?

Thank all of you for your service.

There is not a service man or woman that I have met in a bar, that I did not offer to buy them a drink. I still do it to this day. Unfortunately they are now not allowed to drink in uniform.
