Anyone have a clue as to this organization and what this might have been used for? I've searched and found groups that sound close, but not exact.
The writing on the back indicates that it was made by George Ayer Co. in Indianapolis. Approximately 4" tall and made of brass

It's sort of like the VFW and American Legion for law enforcement. Instead of a membership card why not a badge for those who wear one?

Sailor, Is this an organization that you are familiar with, or just an assumption? I pretty much assume the same, but can not find information on it. As for a badge, it is to large and heavy to be used as such.

Pippin, I've found "American Police & Sheriff Association" that still exists, but no history on "Police & Sheriffs Association of North America"(which apparently includes Canada by looking at the emblem). A couple of police officers have told me that they were not familiar with a "North America" association. Can you provide that link that you found for it?
Thanks!

Yeah still around, these were car badges to tell people you were a "paying" supporter. A tip never give to them they will hound you all the time lol.
