Hi Folks

Found this little beauty a few weeks ago wandering around a field in Yorkshire

Bit rarer than most Denarius found in the Uk ............. i cant stop smiling :D

Its the 2nd time I have searched this field .......... back in January this 2nd century Roman brooch turned up , cant wait to get back there but the crops are on at the moment :(

Have you posted two coins... Or is it a Double Header...can we see the reverses. I hunt in Yorkshire and found a Calligula also :o as you say much rarer than the norm and can fetch a pretty penny :o

Edited.....I can see now it is a Double header...Great Find :notworthy: Gaius Caligula and Germanicus Denarius. Struck 38/9 AD. C CAESAR AVG GERM P M TR POT, laureate head of Caligula right / GERMANICVS CAES P C CAES AVG GERM, bare head of Germanicus right. RSC 2.


One of these coins sold for $1,040.60 a while back :o
