Skeeters were to bad down in th bottom, so the Old Man and I went to a spot that we have been keeping an eye on.
It was hot and I was cocerned about my Dad who is 70, so I didnt look to long but I did find a nice point that had been broke by a dozer in a wind row. Now im just waiting for a good rain. O ya the point was broke by the dozer and I was lucky to find
the other part of it just a few inches away! :laughing7:

Ink-a-lot,

A crying shame Sir, but incredible you found the other end. Sweet and sour I guess.
Man, you be careful walking those clear cuts, the broken or sprained ankle you save may be your own. With small pines laying helter skelter everywhere it can be tricky walking.

I had worked over in Trinity County (upper end of Lake Livingston) for years and know of a creek overflowing with pet. wood and some fossils. Are you anywhere near there or just near Caddo Lake area? Love the East Texas piney woods before the insects show. Tall pine, Dogwoods and Wisteria Vines...beautiful. Just take care if you hear banjos playing. :laughing9:

Yep Bravo, all or most of my geophysical jobs that i work on are in or around East Texas. I do work around West Texas and South TX some, but not as much. I can tell you that East Texas is skeeter infested like a SOB. Worked in Lake Jackson, Freeport, Cleveland, tx, Center, tx, etc.. etc... Man, when it starts raining in summer around those areas, give it 3 days and mosquitto hell breaks loose. I lived most of my younger years in Montogomery County, Tx; East TX, ofcourse. Not as bad there, hahahaha. Inks-A-Lot, cool to see the fields of plowed pine trees, logging is a big deal in East TX. Too bad that point was broken, it looked liked nice material. I have seen areas similar to those in your pics in Center, tx....
