I saw a two hour program on the BIO station last night regarding the making of the movie. I never laughed so hard in my life. The making of was just as funny as movie.

This is one movie that gave us tons of classic lines and finely acted comedy. I remember seeing it when it first opened and enjoyed it, but over the years found it to be funnier each time I saw it.

Here are just a few of he interesting facts I did learn about the making of this movie.

Bill Murray

1- Bill Murray part was originally 2-3 cameos
2- Bill Murray & Chevy Chase were at odds and in a feud at the time of filming.
3- All of his scenes were improv's

Rodney Dangerfield also winged many of his lines and did a ton of drugs

The golf course was not going to let them blowup a hole, so they took all the owners of the course out for lunch and blew it up while they were away. :laughing7:

Ted Knight was having hissy fits because most of the actors were kids under the influence from the night before. Chevy Chase keep messing with his hair during the filming too.

I always loved the gopher dancing to "I'm all right" Everytime I hear that on the radio I picture that gopher dancing and smile

The gopher was only at first brought in as a hand puppet for 1, or 2 scenes.. They then decided to go with the working model we see that shows better facial expressions with moving mouth, eyes and ears, because his role got bigger during the filming. The creator was famous for his work on the earlier Star Wars. Because in the end they had over 4 /12 hours of film to edit, many story lines were dropped, or shortened, the gophers character was a thread to weave many parts together.

It's totally amazing this movie started out as one firm idea, and was fully changed by the wrap.

And didn't do so hot in the theaters. Thank goodness for video. That's where it took off.

Same thing happened to "Office Space".

I've tried to watch Office Space, but I couldn't get into it.. Maybe it's time to try it again :icon_scratch:
