The answer is best practices/approach for Land Navigation in Eastern Forest.
Here is the thing, like in the 4 Corners out west your ability to see far distances helps during orientation and navigation.
Out west there is Heat, Rock scramble and Mountains
But Most of the time is seams like access further in has better access than out east.
But out east roads are not as accessible to a trail head or just jumping off point.
Second 80% chance you’re Bushwhacking without a trail.
Cliff surface and tree makers, heck all markers are camouflaged.
So this is just trying to figure out how to push deep off the path for in search of Cache.
2 to 3 day loops ? BackPacking to retain 1 first day hikes distance?
Just thinking a little a head for some interest on a couple areas.
btw, it will be unfamiliar navigation in a completely out of the area trek.
