A hoard i aquired in Estonia - these are migration era viking swords from the C7/8th. In total there were 8 found together, for some reason all have the pommels missing. I wonder if the swords were never finished ? odd that all were minus pommels so i am guessing that maybe they were lost/buried before being finished. Some of them have traces of the original wood grip still remaining. They all need conservation but are pretty good and solid. There are still some very good pieces to be aquired in the Eastern Block !

Awesome find! What are they made out of, and what kind of area did you find them in that they held up so well, for so long?

I would love to have one of those! Would make an awesome display!! Very nice!

What are those torques near the swords? Are they gold???

I have just put an advert on the "for sale" section of the site, anyone interested in buying one or more of the swords shown please feel free to contact me. I am keeping one for myself so there are 7 available. Thank you for all the positive comments and messages. Its a great site , wish i have seen it years ago.
