C.S.A. Bivouac Mechanicsburg, PA "Cumberland Co." info needed

Last Saturday I purchased Several History books at an
Auction.

Among Them was this book



There are many Liner notes in it, Especially
the History about the Civil War.

There is also an 1867 map of Mechanicsburg,
and the person wrote

CSA BIVOAC AROUND IBM BLDG​

on the Eastern side of the map.

Is there anyone here who is aware if there is any Ground
left to search in the area of the IBM Building in Mechanicsburg ?
or if it's all under Blacktop.

This is in my neck of the woods and I'll be glad to check it out. The only trouble is that I'm out of town. I should be able to have something by next Tuesday (29th) if that's OK.

the IBM building is on Simpson Ferry Rd and mostly blacktop. They have a stormwater area east of the building, that may still have items. North of the building is Trindle Rd. There are several spots not blacktop on Trindle Rd between the IBM building and the house (east 1/4 mile) where the officers set up HQ. this stone house is at the Trindle Rd. and Naval Base RR overpass. There are spots around HQ open also. I woul like to read this book if possible. I lived in the area for 17 years. Pm me if that can be arranged. I do not know camp priorities, but the IBM site seems far from HQ. I could give you google earth coords if you like.

Sounds like it may be worth a trip sometime.

That is if Permission can be obtained.

Or if gas drops some to Warrant a trip
to Inspect & Request & a trip to detect
the next day.

If I'm not mistaken, Palmyra is just about a Mile or 2 From You.

I'll Be In Syner at the Church Grove tomorrow around noon.
