I found this point about 5 years ago on a gravel bar it’s in my top 10 of best finds. I’ve always wondered what the heck it was. I finally figured it out. The blade shows bevel which always threw me off. It’s the one and only like it I’ve ever found. It’s in the Benton family.

Nice looking point. Almost serrated on the edges.
It’s beveled pretty good that’s why it took so long for me to decide on the type might have to look to see if it’s serrated on the edges if it is I might have to look again on the type

That is a nice point! I like the material too. Is it black flint?
We have a lot of the same types of chert Tennessee has. It’s probably a Knox. Most of my collection is black chert

Nice looking point. Almost serrated on the edges.
So I had to look again. It is serrated and it has a left hand bevel and isn’t ground at all. I really don’t find many Kirks but it fits the description. I do find Palmers which are smaller and a little different. I might have one other Kirk but it has a different base.
So what do you think?

I'm not familiar with Buzzards Roost but when I lived in Ohio there were Bifurcates kind of similar. If I found it,
I'd think Kirk & that would be it.
Well I guess I’ve found my first Kirk in that style. I’ve found a couple of Archaic points in that creek and they have been quality pieces. Found my avatar there to. Thanks for setting the record straight.
