Buying Morgan silver dollars

If you can get decent Morgans at 12 bucks each, that is a steal. Make sure they are not fakes. There are some good fakes coming out of China from what I have read.

I personally do not buy many because the coin dealers here want close to double silver value for decent Morgans. I have a roll or two stashed away of BU and AU coins that I bought when I first started buying silver, and I could not sell them for a gain now if I tried.

Good luck. Maybe BBCardsRI will chime in. He is a poster here who likes old US silver dollars. He can give you some good advice I would bet.

Well the lady wasn't right on $12.00.But I did manage to get two Morgans for $11.00 ea.
Not to bad I guess, however the was a little worn.

ditto on the fake dollars.
I have spotted several this year at swap meets.
The sharp feeling rim is a dead giveaway if you don't have mag glass with you.

Need to determine if your buying for the silver value or collectability...in otherwords you're not going to bet a collectable bargain at spot market value.

So if you buy a worn coin for $11, its eye appeal or condition doesn't matter.
