I just bought the following off Ebay..........
Whitmans bluebooks/coin books
1 book Liberty nickels
2 books Standing liberty quarters
2 books mercury dimes
2 books morgan/liberty head halfs

Im the description he says ....."These are two of many albums i have accumulated over the last couple years. These are used but it good condition. These ones are for standing liberty quarters. Two albums for sale. Both include all the regular issue quarters of the series."

I bought each set separately, have emailed him asking if they are empty books with no response yet. I have read the description over & over & if they are empty I will contact Ebay & cry like a baby for being missled. I paid under $12 for all of it, shipped to my door. If full, the face value of these coins is far more than I paid. here is a link to one of the auctions, read it & tell me what you think. Did I just score BIG TIME or did I buy 7 empty books?

I'd be really surprised if the quarters are there. Personally I think his wording is misleading, but at the same time I could see him interpretting his wording as meaning "each book has slots for all the regular issue quarters for that series" - in other words, they aren't books for standing libertys where you have to buy 2 or 3 different books to get all the slots for all the quarters in a series - just one book covers it.

Of course, I'd be thrilled if they came with all the quarters :-)

Cubfan64 said it best. "each book has slots for all the regular issue quarters for that series" I hope all the quarters are there, but this is what chances you get when you don't buy from a person you can look in the eye. Just be glad you didn't bid on a detector for lots more $$$. Good Luck.

I am naive apparantly! He finaly got back to me & said it was just the books & he admitted that he could have reworded the description a bit better, so he cancelled the sale. :(

Those seven books with all the regular issued coins in them would be worth many thousands of dollars, you didn't really think you would get them all for 12$ did you? :-X Cubfan64 said it right- I'm sure he just meant the slots are there. If they were there that would be like winning the numismatic lottery!! ;D
