I have a Whites dealer who was out of stock on the Bullseye but can get it in a day. Should I get the bullseye or get a different pinpointer?? I heard some bullseyes were breaking easy (switches). What should I do, buy it or order a different one and if so, which one?

I know this can turn ugly but want to get a feel for what others say.

Thanks,

Funkman

Hey Funkman;
The switch problem must have been on the older models; 'cause I LOVE my bullseye II.....highly recommended from this guy!

I love my Bullseye II... easy to use and I love the sensitivity control... however, in 6 months of pretty heavy use, I did wear out the button. It could be that I was just too rough with it though... But it has helped me dig over 1500 coins this year, so I can't complain.

I would be lost without mine , but I have had three since last winter and have had switch trouble with all of them . Whites replaced them , but it's still very aggrovating !

I bought one on eBAy, switch went bad, called White's, they told me of a local dealer, I went to his shop (he was expceting me), he handed me a brand new pinpointer, no questions asked.

What do you have to lose?

No! Never buy a bull without an eye! Blind bulls are a dime a dozen! Now a bull with eyes, you have something.................wait, you wrote, "Bullseye II", not "Bullseye too"! Never mind! ::) I'm old! :-* Monty

I love my Bullseye 2 as well, but now that it has the problem with the switch, I realize just how much I miss it. Gotta send it in or run it out there to Sweethome one of these days.... :-[

i have two of them bouth went bad ,i just replaced the switch myself with radio shack switches the same size.....mpfish.......

I bought my Bullseye 1 & 2 off of eBay for half price and both have had minor switch problems... Nothing that has put me out of business yet. I still use both. The BE-1 has a personality that you have to warm up to - otherwise it'll frustrate you to no end. But I prefer it over the BE-2 when it's got fresh batteries in it.

My brother bought a BE-2 from the local dealer and has had it replaced by Whites twice - all three units had switch problems within a month. Whites then installed a toggle switch for him a few weeks ago and that was working okay... until he left it on his bumper and lost it on the road yesterday. Needless to say he won't be buying another Bullseye to replace it.
