Buttons wording? Age?

Button's wording? Age?

Found this today. It's about the size of a Lincoln cent, and looks like it was plated at one time. There is a slight amount of plating left on the front - looks silverish.

The back has lettering that I can't quite make out. It almost looks like "TEADED" or "TEALED" but not sure. The rest of the part is just shapes, etc. Any idea what that word is? Also, age?

The word is "PLATED" and i'd say late 18th century/early 19th century

now that you mention it... it does say "PLATED"
