hi! i'm so impressed w/ how everyone is so helpful on this site! so i figured i could get yall's opinion on these buttons...i didn't dig em up (doubt i'd ever be that lucky!) but snagged them at a thrift store..a family had donated entire estate--sad :( but apparently they were found in a locked bookcase drawer..i've searched and searched and there are so many buttons with similar characteristics! they're all beginning to look the same lol top 5 and bottom 2 on right say "wm scully, ltd. montreal".....any info would be awesome!! thankya! :D

Top row:
All five buttons are 20th-century British/Canadian Navy.
Bottom row:
1st button is a "self-shank" type, which is almost always a civilian "Fashion" button characteristic. Nearly all self-shank buttons are 20th-century.
2nd button shows the "Great Seal of the United States" emblem of the US Army, 1902-to-today. But the self-shank back probably means it is a civilian Fashion imitation of the US Army button.
3rd button is a 1-piece cast brass ball/bullet button, which can date from the 1700s to today, but being 1-piece cast, yours is probably older. Without a maker's-mark, certainty of era is difficult.
4th & 5th buttons are 20th-century British/Canadian Navy.
