DSCN0001.jpgDSCN0002.JPGI sure hope this works. I have had a time trying to figure out how to load images to my post. I still don't know if this is going to work or if I could do it again. If you can see this, pictured are a script A artillery officers coat button and also Georgia State Seal button that where dug by rooter3 in the hayfield behind my residence. We have also dug some flat buttons and other items I intend to post if I can get my posting problems figured out. The script A was dug in early January and the other the last week of February and were probably 150 yards from one another. I have not a clue as to why these items are here.

Maybe these buttons returned home with a Veteran after the war where they were lost until yhall' found them. Congrat's to you on some really nice buttons. I really like the Georgia state seal button and the Artillery script A button.

Two very nice finds. Are you close to Macon? There was action there but it is possible that they were brought home from the war . I find Union eagle buttons here in south west Georgia an there was no action around except for Andersonville prison.

Hello devldog,
In the end, I believe you may be spot on with that deduction. We have other items that I believe may support that conclusion. What I would like to find out is who this person may have been and what was his story. Congrat's would go to rooter3, he found them both. Boys' good with that AT Pro.

Hello fyrffytr1,
South of Macon. Are you North or South of the prison?

Know where that is. Had a brother, now deceased, who lived at Warwick. Always make it a point to eat at that diner at the Salt Lick when I go to Blackshear fishing. Good high cholesterol southern cooking. Appreciate the link. Didn't have it. Check this one out if you don't already have it.

Thanks for that link. I'll pass it on to some of my hunting buddies.

The old AT pro honks when it finds a military button. Nice work.
