Buttons , Bullets, rings

I did some research and boy it paid off. I found these items this week. Can anyone tell me if this is a 40Th foot regiment button it is the dark one. the little coin is an 1838 dime . 2 Civil war buttons. i think the little one is a navy cuff and the big one is a union staff officers button.
i have 2 more buttons but they are in bad shape and soaking.
research the winter and it pays dividends in the spring

The "40" button is indeed a British 40th Regiment of Foot button.
