if any of you have other ideas to clean it i would like to hear thanks

WTG great find ! Wondering what it looked like before the two weeks of work you did on it ? Believe it or not, sometimes soap, water, and olive oil can ruin the look of a good relic, but I understand when your staring at a crusty slug not even knowing what kind of button you have in your hand.

So I found this a couple weeks ago been soaking it in olive oil and gently washing with soap and water scared to push it much more may damage it
great save with a very interesting pedigree, gratz and thanks for posting

yes fredneck I thought I had a bad day that day not finding nothing but buttons and junk that day.cleaned it just a little and saw a design when i got home. posted a pic up here and the the knowledgeable people on here told me what i had thanks to all

Amazing find. I see them posted from time to time, and like a gold coin, I hope I can run my coil over them one day.
The same hole would be even better. :tongue3:
Thanks for the post,
MM
