Definitely looks like a British button. Somebody with more knowledge will chime in soon enough but I think your chances are good

If this is a US find then I would suggest the war of 1812-1815.

I found this button in Trenton Michigan. There was a battle from the war of 1812 fought here and was wondering if this button could be associated with the period.

You hit the nail on the head, congrats on the great looking Artillery Button.
