Found this today from an area that seems to be from late 1700s...Says I.C.&F.LEACH around edge..then facing other way is WIGAN...Has 2 slots so figure button?....and Wigan maybe after city in England? Picture 005.jpgPicture 011.jpg

this ain't 1700s that's for sure.

Didnt mean this item neccassarily 1700s,did find large flat buttons with the ALPHA type shank which are from late 1700s..people could have lived on this site well into 1800s

That firm is listed in the 1869 Wigan UK directory-

The Wigan Directory of 1869 :: wiganworld

Leach J. C. & F. & Co., drapers, mercers, and manufacturers of checks, ginghams, diapers, &c., Crawford House,23 Standishgate
Leach J. G., draper, &c. (J. C. & F. Leach & Co.), 49 Millgate

Thats closest info so far...i couldnt find anything based on what i see on button...though Leach appears to be a popular name in uk...heres a little better pic...maybe error on button or in business listing?...thanks for your helpP1020199.JPG
