Don't really know what this button is it was the only find this evening and my son found it. We were hunting a spot a fellow hunter said he'd found several bullets on we found none. A couple people told us its a floral confederate button. Nonethless it was cool find in a junky hunted out spot.

Also some people call em "Floral Confederate Buttons (if they were found in south of course)" or "Floral Civil War buttons" but all in all the people wearing these buttons were civilians and representing them as "confederate" or "civil war" can make it sound a little confusing typically since a lot of these Flower buttons date pre civil war or post CW. That is why "Civilian Flower or Floral buttons" would be the proper way to ID these.

There isn't a back mark that I can see. I'm not even sure its all there. The back is concave it may just be the front of the button. There is iron or heavy soil attached to the inside on the back and I have no idea how to clean it up to reveal what's there. I'll post a pick of the back in the morning.

It was found in Corinth MS. They built a factory across the road several years ago and spread the removed dirt across the field it was found in. Many bullets and buttons have been brought out of the field. This whole area if I had to guess several square miles was riddled with campsites during the war. Its cool to be able to find anything here with so many md'ers here and not to mention tge ones that come from outta state to hunt these areas. CW or not its been passed over for years by a countless number of people and my 15 yr olds best find to date. I gave up on the spot wasn't getting anything but can slaw, that was ringing in bullet and button he decided to make one last dig and there it was.....
