I found this button this morning but I'm not sure what it is, any ideas. It was found at a site where the newest thing found was a 1808 half cent. It looks like a mans bust facing left with writing around the edge.

How about posting the lettering? Even if it's only partially legible, it might be helpful.

I believe you're right, IronSpike... and if so, that's a great find!

For comparison, here's one (left) posted a while back by MuttandJeeps. Looks pretty close... probably a variant.
