Very cool button! 👍
Nice find.

Wow what a nice button, I don't have one like that in the hundreds that I've dug! Wish it was mine 😪

Thanks. Have been trying to look it up but not much luck. Any ideas about age?
It's would be helpful if I could see the back of it. If it's a one piece button and I'm by no means an expert on buttons! I'm guessing mid 1800s

Not one piece. Back as you can see in very bad shape. Don’t know if you can see in picture but looks like thread stuck on one edge. Might just be a root though. Rang up a 25 on my legend.

Is it a piece of corroded play money? Kind of looks like this Indian chief. These are aluminum

Don’t think it’s aluminum or a piece of play money. Here is the picture of the back.
I looked at the back picture before I posted my thought on what it may be, not saying yours is aluminum(obviously it’s not) I’m sure they made play money/tokens out of copper. The back of yours in my opinion looks like a more modern snap/two piece button, as in 1900+

Normally hunt with 6 inch coil but today decided to try the larger coil. Second dig found the button and thought it was going to be a real good day. Then as you can see reality kicked in. Great day to be out anyway. Good luck everyone. Added better picture of button.
That's a really cool button, but I'm not convinced that its that old, the really old buttons seem to have a lot more designs and maybe raised pictures or lettering, I'm no expert for sure, but it reminds me of game type pieces from the 30s-40s ... it's just my opinion.

My thoughts also, reason I put the picture of the play money on here. That play money is from 1930s-1950s. The images/artistic design looks really similar.
