Button with a crown on it

A buddy asked me to id this button for him in my Tices US Button book.
I doubt it will be in there, because it looks british.
Was wondering if anyone has ever seen this design, and knows anything about it.

It kind of looks like one I saw on tnet recently, pictured below, but the one above has a slightly different design and looks much older.

Well I finally got my buddy to send me a pic of the buttons back.
the back isn't in the best shape, but here it is.
Just thought I would kick this up to the top one more time to see if I get any responses.
