The McGuinn-&-Bazelon book on dating buttons by their backmarks lists an eagle-D button with your exact RMDC "Scovill Mg'g Co./Waterbur." backmark. See the middle of page 114 in the 2006 edition with butternut-colored cover. Therefore, the answer to your "Button, Real or Reproduction?" question is Real.

Thank you. I found it in Tice's Dating Buttons but it just looks too good. I think I am going to go for it. Then, I will need a "V". I already have an "A", "C", "I" and "R" Though I could probably use an "I" in better condition.
