This is what's left of a simple flat button. I know it probably was just a decorative. But, is anyone familiar with the pattern? Just trying to see if it was only a simple design.

Nope, just what was left of where the stem was attached.

Looks like a civilian flat button... Late 18th to early 19th century would be my guess.

Mine too. Just wanted to be sure the pattern wasn't something special that I just didn't know.

Actually, it's bent right now, but I believe it started out flat.

I would also say early to mid 1800's. just from photos. Great find!
