Found this item, it had three little tips or prongs, one broke. Been trying to clean it using my pencils. Any ideas? I think there’s something on the surface but can’t quite read it yet . It was found at this site so late 1800s/early 1900s. I did find a half a shoe buckle as well.

Well I can't seem to find any good examples, but it looks like an upholstery stud, like you would see driven into leather bands on steamer trunks. I don't think it's a button.

That’s interesting, , maybe it’s decorative I have it soaking. , thanks!

It reminds me of the decorative studs that are on ColtsPop's saddle.

Looks too small to be a chair glide IMO. I believe it may be a crimp-on “bauble” for a horse harness (decoration). Here’s a picture of a set I found, still crimped to the dried out leather.

And a rear shot that kind of shows a back view.

Some I’ve found have 2 crimp legs, others have 3 or 4.

The chair guide and the horse decor are both the same type of stud or whatever it’s called. So it’s from either one of those
