Appears to have star symbol in the middle and got a little folded up somehow...

It's definitely not a button. Perhaps an early drawer pull?

Just a guess

I would say a leather rivet probably from a saddle or other horse tack.

Part of me wants to unfold the top round part.... But still I figured somthing from a garment or accessory of some sort...

Does anyone think it's old?

It is some type of rivet.

Only the star pattern? Looks like an arc on the 1st image. No doubt a rivet style base.

How can you tell...? Id like to think it's old.. but have my doubts I found the item near some old mining claims... But there still is some present day activity in the area... Im in southern Arizona...

It doesn't have "Made In China" imprinted in it.:icon_thumright:

After I looked at it again I realized what it is .It is a vintage overall button that is riveted to the material to hold the suspenders or close the top pockets. Overalls would definitely be something a miner would wear.I knew it was familiar and considering that I wear overalls I knew it was real familiar.:laughing7:I couldn't find who had the star as their logo.

I'm looking at the patina and the style of the rivet. Seems like a nice heavy patina that would take a long time to get that way, especially in a dry state like arizona. But it truly is a guess, could very well be wrong and it could be early 1900's, but I dont think so.
