Button or Coin!!!!

I found this earlier today and really can't tell for sure. It seemed to be brass due to the green coating I cleaned off. Diameter is 1.085 one way and 1.030 inches another. Doesn't have anything on it to represent a loop for a button though.

I'm no expert but it looks like a wiped copper. Check for yourself but I'd guess the diameter is of a US large cent... it looks really toasty for that though, unless you found it in a fertilized field. Was there more detail before your cleaned it? Sometimes a pencil and tracing paper allow details to come out. Nice fine...maybe someone else can give you better info.

Looks to be a toasted LC maybe it's a little smaller than it should be but I'm guessing its due to the loss of copper
