Jbbj, go to the following webpage and scroll down to see several of the "U.S.I. Reg't" button version you found, with prices. Yours seems to still have nearly all of its original Silverplate, which is quite unusual on for a dug military button... so William Leigh may be interested in purchasing it. At the very least, he can tell you a lot about it. His "contact" info is on his website's homepage. William is a personal friend of mine, for over 30 years... he is trustworthy. Tell him Pete sent you... he'll know who that is.

Buttonbob, I see you are a brand-new member (3 posts), so, first... welcome to TreasureNet. :)

Second, some free friendly advice for you. When replying to "older" posts, it can be helpful to first check the Profile of the poster you want to speak to. Click on the poster's name at the left of the page for the option to view that person's Profile, latest posts, etc.

In the case of your question to jbbj... his/her profile at
http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/members/69416.html
shows he/she hasn't logged on to TreasureNet in the past four months.
