3/8" thick and 2" in diameter brass item with a hand carved small cross, capital letter A, a tree and something else I can't decipher. Also, someone carved a large "P" and possibly an "M" or 1? Found today around a once colonial homesite along with buttons, a musket ball, 4-sided nails, etc.

Thanks in advance for any help. I thought it could be a button mold, but can't find any similar pictures online.

Reminds me of a small weight for hand weighing scales, yet those come normaly with a knob for a handle.

Would weigh it if I was you to look if it makes sense, like it is say 1/2 ounce or something (or slightly less if the handles just broke off).

It weighs exactly 4 ounces and appears to have once had something in the middle that may have broken off.

How neat. Hall marked by manufacturer as authentic or correct weight.
