✅ SOLVED Button like thing? Grommet? Sprinkler part?

Hey everyone I found this little thingie on an old housesite. It appears to have either iron or cloth held in it but I am thinking deteriorating cloth. Is it a grommet? Could be junk Does anyone have ideas what it might be? Thanks

It looks tiny .. How big is it? Small enough to be part of an antique sewing machine bobbin?

Not a bobbin. They all have a hole through the center to mount on a spindle.
About the right size though.

Could it be part of a toy siren whistle you put up to your mouth and blow

Maybe a dress snap. They looked like that and were sewn in. The center was the male half of the snap.

I think you might be right about the dress snap. It was crumpled on itself on a fairly old houses Site. That would explain the cloth inside it. Or I could be wrong. I will keep it. Thanks! Found flat buttons near it too.

Finally remembered where I’d seen one. Rebuilding a chainsaw carb:
