Went back to my "condemned" field yesterday for about 2 hrs. After making a few passes I got a good solid signal at a depth of 4" and out popped this beauty, a nice Civil War Artillery button :o :o with lots of gilt still left on it, happy dance happy dance, continued on my way then bam another button, then bam another, and another, 5 in all, not bad for about 2 hrs of fun, then on my way back to my suv I picked up this nice large cent I think the date reads 1830, my 4th LC from this field so far. Hope to get back there later today. Thanks for looking Dean

Wow, Nice Gold Button, Congrats!!! Was the Indian head a fatty, looks like it is.

The best Eagle I have found is pretty green, but I still love it. Found it in Virginia last fall!

the coin is a large cent, I don't think it's a fatty seems to be the same size as the other ones I have found. Dean

Buttons and coppers...... Sounds familiar :headbang: I like digging the Tombac buttons as it means that there could be a great find nearby :dontknow:

Some cool stuff and a nice eagle A. It looks to be a one piece button. If so it dates about 1814 to 1820. Very cool.
