I found this button today on our property from mc lilley and company. Could anyone help me identify what the button was used for?

I noticed this was your very first post Jlom - so, Welcome Aboard! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

It's a musicians button. Can you post a picture of the back? Is there a backmark?

Sorry just read your post again. M.C. Lilley and Company was established just after the war (1865). So its a post-Civil War era Musicians button. Neat find!
