Button ID

Approx. size of nickel, the back has a loop soldered on with no visible makers mark, back and front possibly pressed together, possibly brass, feels heavy for its size, found underground in south central Texas. Sorry about the little information, this is the only picture I have, and somehow misplaced the thing.

It looks like a two-piece design, but with a soldered loop, is it possibly an earlier button?
If we could see a pic of the back of the button that will help determine it's age more precisely.

This appears to be a French Army button from the Napoleon III era that is often mis-identified as a confederate officer’s button. That’s per the description of a matching button in Tice’s Uniform Buttons of the U.S. 1776-1865, page 201.

Thanks everyone, I’m still looking for the button to get better pictures and descriptions. It was found while digging arrowheads right in the middle of the camp.
