Button ID Help

Found this button at an 1820s home, not sure if its modern, old or military? I havent been able to get any info researching it.

It looks like a fashion button. Any photos of the back?

The back is not intact although I did find it in the same hole. I will post pics of the back later, the shank on it is square unlike all other buttons ive dug which were round. Possibly a Livery button?
